 The Herd.

The herd is an outgrowth of some of the many excellent North American lines in the llama world.

It has grown by conscientious use of tried and true sire lines in order to consistenly produce progeny better than the dam.

A breeding herd of 30 - 40 animals has been maintained the last few years and these numbers have allowed us to cull ruthlessly.

Females who are not able to breed and settle easily, milk well and produce better than themselves are culled and sold as guard or companion animals.

Animals have been selected to produce offspring with dispositions better than average, color and style which is memorable, and fleece characteristics that rival any herd.

Luster and color have been the fleece traits most sought after, with the importance of producing a beautiful, easy to handle animal the overall goal.

Many of the progeny currently produced carry our breeding back four generations, as you can imagine, they are the ones we are the most proud.
