Suri Llamas
Our Herd Sire Peruvian Madiero We decided last spring to enter the Suri llama world by becoming co-owners of Peruvian Madiero with Steve and Renee Orr of Sol-Orr Farm. This outstanding extreme suri is a direct son of Kantu, and has one of the extreme, dramatic, consistent fleece for which the Kantu offspring are famous. He also has a pretty head, great conformation, good size, and really sweet personality, quiet and easy to handle. We immediately exposed him to some of the best females in the herd, and are now within months of seeing the results.
Madiero's conditional suri guarantee Our entry into the suri llama world has us competing for a spot this first year, and to entice the sales of a couple of these females we are currently offering a conditional suri guarantee with the sale of these first pregnant females. That conditional guarantee states that if the first cria born is not considered to be a suri cria, then the female can be returned to breed again to Peruvian Madiero at no charge. All of these females sell with our normal Downey Ridge five day live baby guarantee, which states that if for any reason the cria does not survive the first five days of life the female can be rebred at no charge.
The following females have been confirmed pregnant by ultrasound and are expecting his crias in the next six months.
Wallstreet's Lunar Gold An unbelievably pretty maiden, Lunar was produced by breeding a McRoberts female with our Papa's Wallstreet. We truly think she is one of the fanciest females we have ever produced. She was bred to Peruvian Madiero July 2, 2004, so a cria is right around the corner. Her dam, MGF Blue Moon Girl, is a dramatic paint with tremendous substance, and has produced one outstanding cria after another. Her current cria, a full sister to Lunar, has one of the most dramatic fleeces we have ever made. Lunar sells with the above suri guarantee, as well as our normal five day live baby guarantee. Lunar also sells with free transportation to the Oklahoma celebrity sale in April 2005.
Wallstreet's Touchdown Another maiden we produced by crossing, this time, a Bolivian female named Captivation with Papa's Wallstreet. She is a true silver and white paint out of a silver dam who has produced a silver and white offspring three out of four times. Her silver genes should pass on to the next generation, since her dam has produced us three cria's so far and all have been silver. Her dam is a tremendous producer who conceives, births and milks like a champ. Capturing Silver, her younger sister (same breeding) is listed on the "Young Girls 2003" page. Touchdown, is a large framed, heavily fleeced, single coated female which we expect to reproduce as consistently as her dam. We are pretty excited about this cria due in June 2005.
Soffee Soffee, a dark bay foundation female, is a large framed, easy to handle tremendous producer, which we paired with Peruvian Madiero since her genes are so formidable. She is the dam of Wallstreet's Best Yet (Betsy) seen on the "Young Girls 2003" page, and numerous other crias which have left the farm at weaning age, since they are always so flashy. Her crias always have color, size, and tremendous fleece characteristics. She is due in May 2005, Can't WAIT!
Tartan's Blend O Chocolate This is one of the cutest llamas we have ever produced. She is a dark bay maiden with an outstanding head piece, moderate size, perfect fleece, and almost steel gray eyes. She is out of our "Blend O " line which originated from a female named Blend O Berry who lived to be twenty plus years old and produced crias yearly until that time. The progeny of this line always have tremendous height, stature, personality, reproductive traits. Her dam, Blend O Silver is listed below. We just could not wait to pair this with Peruvian Madiero. She is due in July of 2005.
Blend O Silver This tall stately silver and white female is the dam of the above, Blend O Chocolate, and due a Peruvian Madiero cria in June of 2005. Blend O Silver is a granddaughter of the old timer Federico, to whom we definitely attribute a tremendous amount of our success. This will be her third cria and we expect great things. If you are looking for a proven female with an unblemished record, this is her. She has conceived, birthed, milked, and produced crias stronger than herself each time. She is easy to handle and has never let us down.
Suzi's Specialty This is a well proven black and white female of moderate to average size. She inherits her pretty head piece from her sire, a Macho Comacho son, and her moderate size, and black and white color from her dam, a T.J.'s Moonshadow daughter. Suzi has produced us offspring yearly, every color of the rainbow. They sell quickly since they are usually flashy. Cisco is one of the few we still have to show off. He is listed on the "Young Males For Sale" page. If you're looking for a smaller version of llamas, in a female that has done it many times before and hoping for color, this is it. She is due her Peruvian Madiero cria in July of 2005.
